Below are extracts of a later post-Project Twinkle UFO report at Holloman AFB made by
Land-Air, Inc. employees
Mr. "A"
1. Description: "pip" on radar scope about he same size and apparent speed
as jet fighter would give at 55,000 feet.
2. Time of sighting: About 1020 MST, 14 July 1952, for a very few minutes.
3. Manner of observations: Radar "A" scope on X-Band modified SCR-584.
4. Location of observer: X-Ray 1 on attached map which about two miles
northwest of the center of the runways at Holloman AFB. Object sighted
near B-29 about three miles north of the radar location.
5. Observer: Mr. "A" civilian employee of Land-Air, Inc., for 1-1/2 year
fairly reliable report.
6. Weather: Scattered clouds at 6,000 feet and 23,000 feet, visibility 40
miles.
7. Possible explanation: None known.
8. Physical evidence: None.
9. Interceptions or identification action: None.
10. Location of air traffic in the area at the time: B-29 and F-86 both
known to have been in the area at the time of sighting, and the object was
going just opposite to the B-29 direction.
Mr. "B"
1. Description: Circular metallic appearance about the size of the star
on the wing of the B-29 at 55,000 feet. Object passed B-29 going nearly in
the same direction, but much faster. Passed out of field of view.
2. Time of sighting: About 1040 MST, 14 July 1952.
3. Manner of observations: P-3 optical tracker, 20 power monocular scope
used in conjunction with radar X-Ray 1 at the name site.
4. Location of observer: X-ray 1, two miles northwest of the center of
runways at Holloman Air Force Base, new Mexico
5. Identifying information of observer: Mr. "B", civilian employee of
Land-Air, Inc., for 8 months
6. Weather: Scattered clouds at 6,000 feet and at 25,000 feet, visibility
40 miles.
7. Possible explanation: None.
8. Physical evidence: None.
9. Interception: None.
10. Air traffic: As indicated above.
